Updating Antivirus Program and Virus Definitions

 

Both the Antivirus threat detection software and the threat database that the Antivirus uses are frequently updated. New threats are discovered every day and it is important to keep your device(s) up to date to maximize the protection of devices and networks.

When this task runs, the software updates on each device the next time that device is turned on and connected to the internet. The task history shows you when the task has completed successfully for each device, and you can view more details in the Task Report.

Updating Antivirus and Virus Definitions

1. If you would like to only manage tasks for a specific site/customer, select a customer from the drop-down menu
2. Navigate to the Devices page
3. Do one of the following:
   • For a single device: click the More button beside a device name and hover over Update
   • For multiple devices: select the check boxes of the devices you want to update, click More, and hover over Update
4. Hover over Update, then select the button for the type of task you would like to create:
   • Update AV Virus Definitions Version
   • Update AV Program Version
5. Click Update Now
